This is a chronicle of your past adventures. Go to the present?

“Congratulations!” your Uncle John says to you as you walk into the house. “You’ve graduated! How’s it feel?”

“Great,” you say, as you head into the kitchen and pour yourself a glass of orange juice. It’s one of things your relatives always say, and you know that’s how you’re supposed to answer. Uncle John’s a nice guy - he helped you out when you were trying to figure out what to study, though a lot of his help involved long stories about his years in the Army. With his help and some hard work, you finished as a history student with honors. Not the best in the school, but not too bad either. It does actually feel pretty good to be done, come to think of it.

“What are you planning to do now?” he asks.

“I’m not sure,” you say. “I’m thinking about becoming a private detective.”

“A private eye?” he says. “Never met anyone doing that before. You kids get yourselves into some weird work these days. Well, congratulations again, and good luck - I’d better say hello to your dad before I go.”
